September 2022 - Principal's Message
Dear families,
We have had a happy and productive start to the new school year! When I
was out on recess supervision a few days ago there were students playing
football catch, playing imaginative games, swinging, playing soccer, playing
follow the leader and enjoying the comfortable fall day. There is a student
who arrives every morning with the biggest smile and friendliest “Good
morning!”, which is such a cheerful way to start the day. On their way into the
school some students share little snippets of what is on their mind with the
adult holding the door. We are also glad to welcome a few new families to
our school this year!
On the productive side of school life, while students and teachers have been
settling into classroom routines and learning, our picnic shelter has been
completed. It is already being used as an outdoor classroom, and a place to
visit with friends or play games during recess. It will be a well-used and
comfortable space for learning, socializing and some special lunches in the
future.
Our school participated in the Terry Fox run, an annual tradition, and students
raised $124 for this cause. Students continue to be inspired by Terry Fox’s
courage and determination and often set goals for how far they want to run on
that day. Some students ran around the block 10 or more times in 30 minutes, working hard to meet their goals!
Lastly, we are very excited to order school clothing this year with our brand-new logo. Details on colors and what they will look like will come out shortly
with order forms so that you can purchase clothing for your family.

been happening at school, and information about upcoming events!
